Ultrasound technology has been around for decades, but its use in outpatient settings has been limited until recently. At FUSION, we use ultrasound technology to identify and locate soft tissue abnormalities that may be the result of an injury or the source of chronic pain.

When administering regenerative type procedures, ultrasound is used to help guide the injections and ensures correct placement of the injection to deliver the greatest benefit to the patient and the best patient outcomes.

How Does Ultrasound Work?

Ultrasound uses sound waves to create a picture of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and soft tissues in the body. It does not use ionization radiation like x-rays, and is completely painless, safe, and non-invasive.

How Can Ultrasound Help Treat Pain?

Ultrasound provides images in real-time, allowing us to see the movement of blood, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and soft tissues in your body. If you are injured or suffering from pain, we are able to provide a precise diagnosis and targeted treatment plan to heal the affected area.

Once we identify the affected area using ultrasound, we use the same technology for guidance during injection procedures. In doing so, we are able to deliver the injection to the precise location in which it will provide the greatest benefit.
